Incorrect disposal of hazardous waste is a criminal offence in the UK,our service protects you, your property, and the environment.
Hazardous waste is defined as any waste that poses a threat to human health or the environment due to its toxic, flammable, reactive, or corrosive properties. Common examples include: asbestos and asbestos-containing materials, fluorescent and energy-saving light bulbs, fridges and freezers (due to refrigerant gases), batteries and accumulators, solvents and chemical containers, paint, pesticides and herbicides, electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), and certain oils. If you are unsure whether your waste qualifies as hazardous, contact us for a free assessment.
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005, hazardous waste in the UK must only be transported by a carrier registered with the Environment Agency. Using an unlicensed carrier, or disposing of hazardous waste illegally, can result in substantial fines and prosecution. Grab & Go Removals holds a valid Waste Carrier Licence (CBDU618900) details of which are available on the Environment Agency public register. We also provide a consignment note for every hazardous waste collection as required by law.
When you contact us, we'll ask you to describe the type and approximate quantity of hazardous material. We'll confirm whether it falls within our collection scope and advise on the correct approach. On the day, our trained operatives collect the waste using appropriate containers and protective equipment. All hazardous waste is transported to an authorised treatment, recovery, or disposal facility. You will receive a consignment note as your legal proof of compliant disposal.
We can collect most household and commercial hazardous waste categories including WEEE, batteries, fluorescent tubes, chemical containers, paint, oils, and refrigerants. We do not collect clinical or medical waste, radioactive materials, or pressurised gas cylinders, these require highly specialised carriers. For items we cannot handle, we will point you toward the correct registered service. ⚠️ Warning: Illegal fly-tipping of hazardous waste is a serious criminal offence in the UK and can result in unlimited fines and imprisonment. Always use a licensed carrier.
